The Facebook Fan of the Month Award recognizes the sharing activity of one of our Facebook Fans. In Acttiv we think Facebook is a great platform for us to keep on touch with all the Entertainers. At the same time, we think it is the perfect space for all the Acttiv stuff to meet each other and learn from their own experience.

Tomás Hernández is currently entertainer in Hotel IPV Beatriz Costa Teguise & Spa and has previous experience working, also with Acttiv, as all-round animator in Hotel Princesa Yaiza, Lanzarote.

Tomás is 21 years old and he has been working with Acttiv just a few months. During this time he has been really active in Facebook, sharing pictures about his daily experience as entertainer. Also Tomás and the rest of the Animation team in Hotel IPV Beatriz Costa Teguise have created a new Entertainment Facebook Profile to share pics of their activity in this Resort.

We are really happy to have Tomas picture as our Profile Facebook Pic during the whole Month of November and we hope he enjoy his time as Facebook Fan of the Month.

In order to encourage him to continue sharing his daily experience as entertainer, during this month, Acttiv has lent him a video camera and an USB Internet Connection.

We are really happy to name him as Facebook Fan of the Month of October, not only for his continuous sharing activity at our Facebook Profile, as well as a way to reward his good work and effort to work as en Entertainment Reporter.

Florin Baciu started working with Acttiv at the end of summer 2009 in Hotel Hotasa Eurocalas, Mallorca, as allround entertainer. In 2010 he worked in Mallorca as well, but this time at Club Mac with a new role: he became the first person to be Entertainment Reporter in Acttiv.

After his first experience at Club Mac, this year Florin has consolidated his good job as Entertainment Reporter working in Hotel Oasis Islantilla and making interviews to his colleagues, clients and hotel staff. Check it out at Hotel Oasis Islantilla Facebook Fan Page!

The role of Entertainment Reporter requires of someone enthusiastic who is willing to learn about Social Media and with good knowledge of camera recording, photo shooting and editing. Moreover Florin is a positive person who helps to create a fun and easy-going environment at any entertainment team he works.

This month the award goes to Marek Aragón, Chief Entertainer in the hotel H10 Tindaya on Fuerteventura. Congratulations!

Marek hasn’t shared so much on our Facebook-Site of ACTTIV but he is an excellent entertainer and public relations specialists, so it is time to give him an award for several years of great work!

Marek started working with Acttiv in March of 2008 and since the beginning he has always been working as entertainer on the Canary Islands. So he began in Tenerife, then changed the island and kept on working on Gran Canaria. And finally he reached Fuerteventura, where he still works today.

There, he is Chief Entertainer in the hotel H10 Tindaya and with his team of three entertainers he does a great job. Marek has always a smile on his face and seems to be in a good mood all the time. His strenghts are public relations with the hotel guests and the performance with the microphone. His entertainment team is very glad to have him as chief, because the team spirit is incredibly good. Marek is 28 years old and originally comes from Poland. Apart from Polish he speaks English, Spanish, German and a little bit of French.

We are glad that Marek will be our Facebook profile picture during the whole month of September. He also will have access to this blog on animajobs.com where he will have the chance to write interesting articles about his daily entertainer life. And we hope that with the video camera flip, he will be able to create new videos and interesting interviews.

Paella is a Valencian rice dish. There are three widely known types of paella: Valencian paella (Spanish: paella valenciana), seafood paella (Spanish: paella de marisco) and mixed paella (Spanish: paella mixta), but there are many others as well. Valencian paella consists of white rice, green vegetables, meat (rabbit, chicken, duck), land snails, beans and seasoning. Seafood paella replaces meat and snails with seafood and omits beans and green vegetables. Other key ingredients include saffron and olive oil.

In my video clip you will see how to create a basic clown face… this one is very popular with young kids.

Before you start face painting check that the child has no skin allergies or infections. If in doubt, try a little on the inside of his or her wrist and leave it for approximately 60 minutes to see if a reaction develops. Always get the parents permision.

Preparation

1. Make sure you have a good supply of water for washing brushes and sponges between faces.
2. There is no need to put any cream or moisturizer on the skin before you begin. Applied directly onto clean, dry skin.
3. You may wish to keep the hair away from the face with a hair band or clips.
4. Always apply the base colour first, using a damp sponge. Make sure that the sponge is not too wet by squeezing out excessive water or the finished result may be streaky.
5. On designs that have a variety of light and dark colours, apply the lighter colour first, if possible.
Note: Water based face paint is also great for body painting! Use brushes to paint rings on fingers, wrist watches and bracelets on arms, or a huge tattoo – the effects can be stunning.

Maintaining your face painting kit

In order to get the best results, we recommend these basic tips.
When storing or using the kit, keep it in a cool place out of sunlight.
Always make sure your materials and face paint containers are cleaned at the end of every session. Store your materials in a dry clean state with lids on all containers.
When finishing a session, wipe any excess moisture from the surface of the paints and store with the lids on.
Brushes should be rinsed well in hot water and left to dry before putting away.
Sponges should be washed well in hot soapy water and left to dry before putting away.
Face paint which has been used for more than eighteen months should be discarded.
Discard badly stained or damaged brushes and sponges.

Today I have a video diary from our Circus Show. In the video we take a look behind the scenes, into the preparation for the show.

Starting with rehearsals. It´s important to rehearse so everyone knows what to do, where to stand on stage and how to enter and exit the stage.

Rehearsals can be hard work, but the time you put into the show will pay off in the performance!

I like to film rehearsals from time to time… this gives everyone a clear view of how the show looks. We can also see if everyone is doing the same steps and standing the correct positions.

Costumes and props can help to create a good atmosphere for the show. My mother taught me how to sew when I was young . I feel lucky that I am able to make my own costumes, like this one that I created for the circus show!

Make up is a great way of enhancing the look of the show. As you can see in my photo I have painted my face like a clown. I love face painting and we usually do this in the mini club on our Circus day.

Children love to dance at the mini disco to all their favorite songs; Veo veo, Superman, Head Shoulders, knees and toes.

At the Puerto Azul we like to give the children a surprise! Every evening we dress up in different costumes. It’s a lot of fun, especially when you see their faces!! Sometimes the children smile or laugh at what your wearing… even the adults laugh!

I decided to make a short video of our costumes that we use for the mini disco…. there is also a surprise for you at the end… Tino the penguin.

The mini disco would not be complete without him! The children love him and can´t wait to see him each night. After they can have their photo taken with him and they can buy Tino´s party cd and t-shirts.
